Salute to the Commitment of Firefighters

A firefighter's life is constantly in danger since they have to cope with fires. They carry hefty bags on their backs in case the worst happens. Despite taking safety precautions when fighting fires, many firemen lose their lives each year.

Five firemen died in a forest in 1999 as a result of a sudden shift in wind direction, prompting the creation of Firefighter Day. The world celebrates World Firefighter's Day on May 4 each year to recognise the hazardous work that firemen do.

Their duties don't end with putting out on-fire structures; they also deal with wildfires, when the threat of death is much greater and the fire's intensity is much higher.

Nobody could imagine scaling a tree to rescue a fearful animal incapable of descending on his own. Carry an injured person who is unconscious on your shoulder. Firefighters risk their lives every day to rescue humans and animals engulfed in a blazing inferno.

Let's keep in mind those who are employed in this field as well as those who have passed away while carrying out their jobs. The community's support will act as a role model for firefighters everywhere.
